Hi Everyone

My name is Owen and I’m a 7 year old pony mad boy from Edinburgh who loves to show jump. This weekend myself and my granny travelled south to the 1st winter premier show of the year at Onley Equestrian Centre in Warwickshire. I was super excited as I love sleepover shows. I had a great weekend with lots of great results. My highlight was jumping the special handicap qualifier, coming 3rd and qualifying as I’ve been waiting a long time to be allowed to jump bigger. This is because British Showjumping rules don’t allow you to jump bigger than 90cm until the year you are 8.

Shows are always good fun – not only for getting to jump, but because its a chance to meet up with all my friends PLUS I got to eat lots of chocolate cake as it was Granny’s birthday whilst we were there.

We didn’t arrive home until 2am Monday morning, but I still had to go to school. Thankfully I had slept well on the way home. This week is going to be another busy one as I need to ride at least 3 ponies each evening to keep them fit, plus school work and playing with my new puppy Cookie.

This week’s goal is to be confident and build a relationship with Piggy as I have only had her a week and still get nervous on her. Mum says I need to learn it’s ok to be nervous – it’s not a bad thing – and how I can use it to my advantage.

Hope everyone has a great week.

Owen xxx
